Sator Square

The Sator Square is a word square containing the following Latin palindrome"SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS" . The earliest known appearance of the square was found in the ruins of Pompeii which was buried in the ash of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. The properties of this palindrome are incredible and many authors have suggested very interesting interpretations: some found a religious meaning hidden in the palindrome, others magical formulas and some also suggested the presence of some scientific reference hidden in symbolic form.

Studying the properties of this square is a challenging exercise which never ends to surprise the student: think for example at the following numerical sequence that can be derived from the square using isopsephia with the Beatus of Liebana System applied to the Latin Words:
SATOR=321
AREPO=196
TENET=250
OPERA=196
ROTAS=321
Now we can reduce the numeric value with method of Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim:

SATOR=6
AREPO=7
TENET=7
OPERA=7
ROTAS=6
those not new in numerology can find a lot to think about here:
7x3=21
6X2=12
6+7+7+7+6=33
The harmony of Earth and Sky and the Divine nature of all earthly and heavenly things can be read in these incredible Latin Palindrome.
If you are interested in learning how to use gematria and isopsephia to interpret the symbolic valence of some ancient text you may find some interesting examples and practical applications in my book "Wall Street Watchman".
